Gray Cat Obsessing Over Massage Gun Is Oh

Aug 24, 2023

Who doesn't enjoy a nice massage? It's one of the few times in life when you can fully unwind, clear your mind, and relax your entire body. You escape for an hour or so and once you're done, you feel completely refreshed. Believe it or not, your pets can benefit from massages too.

Cat massages specifically aren't just for pampering, although, they most likely think it's what they deserve for ruling the household. Just as it is for humans, cat massages have plenty of physical benefits, which is why TikTok user @ellasella23's cat was obsessing over a massage gun in this adorable August 23 clip. Take a look!

Nothing quite warms our hearts more than seeing pets get pampered like the royalty that they are. We absolutely love getting massages, especially since there are plenty of physical benefits with massages. And now that we know our furry friends can get the same benefits, pet parents should start giving them more massages!

Purina reported that cat massages can improve circulation, promote low blood pressure, help joint mobility, and curb cat anxiety or stress. The company added that it is best to wait for your cat to approach you to give a massage. If he or she rubs up against you, that means they're relaxed enough to enjoy a five to 10-minute massage. Be aware of their body language, though. You don't want to force it. And if you don't feel comfortable giving your feline friend a massage, we'll bet there are a few animal massage therapists in your area.

Now, you don't always have to turn to massages to help reduce your cat's anxiety and stress. The first step you want to take is to determine what is causing the stress and anxiety. Then you want to check your cat's environment. Maybe the TV is too loud or their space isn't clean. Spend quality time with your cat and use calming products. Lastly, you'll also want to double-check your cat's health with a trip to the vet to make sure they're up-to-date on vaccines and treatments as well as determine there are no underlying conditions.
